How do I reverse a video online?

Browser mode is free — 5 exports a day without an account. Server mode is an optional HD render that uses Tooljin credits, and Pro or Business accounts are unlimited.

Can I make a boomerang for Instagram Reels?

Yes. Pick Boomerang mode, set how many times the loop repeats, and crop to 9:16 for Reels or 1:1 for feed posts.

How do I rotate a video that was shot sideways?

Use the rotate buttons to turn the clip 90, 180 or 270 degrees. The rotation is applied to the footage itself, so the crop and framing you set afterwards work on the upright picture.

How do I mirror or flip a video?

Tap the mirror button to flip it left to right, or the flip button for top to bottom. Mirroring is handy for un-mirroring selfie footage, and it can be combined with reverse, boomerang or speed.

How do I fit a landscape video into a Reel without cropping it?

Choose a 9:16 ratio and switch Fit to Blur fill. The whole frame is kept and the space above and below is filled with a blurred, enlarged copy of the same video, so nothing gets cut off.

Is my video uploaded to a server?

Not in Browser mode — the clip never leaves your device. Server mode uploads it so we can render in HD, and the file is deleted automatically about an hour later.

Why does my long 4K clip ask me to use Server mode?

Reversing needs every frame held in memory at once. A browser tab can only hold so much, so big jobs are handed to our servers instead of crashing your tab.

What file formats can I use?

MP4, MOV, WebM and most common camera formats go in; you get an MP4 out (WebM in browser fallback mode on some browsers).
